The Story: Hidden Treasure 

 

Hidden Treasure – The inspiration for the painting came as I was praying one morning. Just as I was getting done with my morning time with Jesus, the image of a painting flashed through my mind and with it the words “Hidden Treasure.” I did my best to replicate the painting, that’s all.

We think that the Kingdom of Heaven is set on a plater and served to us without us engaging with the Kingdom. That rarely happens. It is often found by those who actively seek the Kingdom. We also think that the matters of the Kingdom are visible to the plain sight, and the working of the Spirit is obvious. Quite the contrary. God’s kingdom is hidden. Hidden like a treasure, that when found, is more valuable than anything else you might have. The one who seeks this Treasure finds it and is satisfied.

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. ” Matthew 13:44
