As part of my journey with Jesus, one of the key lessons God keeps teaching me is to be attentive to His plans. Following Jesus is never about just me and having my way. His plans are much bigger than my life. Sometimes I clearly see, but most of the time I simply have to be obedient and work with Him, trusting that He knows when, where and how to use me. Paying attention to His voice is critical to working with Him, because without Him, I could be sowing in places that weren’t meant to be and harvesting before time. He knows! I am called to simply partner with Him.
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
