The Potter’s House Collection

Back in my teenage years, there was a famous preacher in India. His authoritative teaching, his walk with Jesus, his God stories, and his humility was a huge inspiration for me. He was the first person to ignite the passion in my heart to lean into God’s heart and desire for more than just religion. He was the first person I had encountered who talked about God as if God was his friend and He encouraged others to experience that. He was full of the Holy Spirit and yet he would say, “I am all but 70 kilograms of clay. From dust I came and to dust I will return. Whatever I am today is because of the grace of God.”

It’s an interesting perspective and humbling idea. The Bible talks about it too. In Isaiah 45:9 we read this:

What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’

In the Bible, God uses pottery as symbolism in multiple places and I wanted to explore this idea through a collection of paintings. In the process, I got to learn a bit more about His heart and His character. These paintings are like layers, each layer conveying a unique message but displaying the unified message of God’s relentless love for humanity.
