When Jesus was pierced, and water and blood poured out. The blood cleanses us from sin and water gives us life – both abundant life and eternal life. His body tore, so did the veil.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split – Matthew 27:51

Water flowed from Jesus when His side was pierced with a spear. This water is the living water – the source of eternal and abundant life.
