One of my favorite resurrection accounts of Jesus is how he meets with his disciples at the seashore with a campfire and fish on the grill. God, desiring friendship with the same disciples who abandoned him at the cross? I imagine there was laughter, good food and deep bonding that happened that morning. Soon after that, Jesus challenged Peter and reinstated him back into being a disciple. In this painting, I have placed myself in that scene (sans the boat and fishing nets). From what little I know, Jesus loves deep, meaningful relationships. He desires so much to reveal His heart to me but I am often too busy. Often too set in my ways to allow him to challenge me and change me. Deep friendships require deep commitment. He is willing to do that. Am I? Are you?
