Inspiration Behind This Painting
This is painting #4, the last painting in the Potter’s House Collection. It is called “Jars of Glory”.
“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days, I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.” Joel 2:28,29
Every vessel has a purpose. The potter knows what the vessel will hold. Some will hold water while others will hold wine. Some will be used for drinking and others for washing. The maker of the pot can fill it up or leave it empty. Likewise, the scripture tells us that in the last days, God will pour His Spirit on everyone. Young and old, pour and rich, men and women, they all receive the power and glory of God according to His good pleasure and purpose. Some will dream dreams, some will see visions, some will prophecy, and some will teach.
Apostle Paul writes about this as well. He says,“Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles? Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not! So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:29-31
God has filled you already, His child, with gifts that are most helpful for your calling i His kingdom. So whatever it is that you are called to do, do it well and do it with love. The Holy Spirit leaves inside of you, putting in you the desire to do good works. He has equipped you and filled you to overflowing. When you run out, He will continue to pour into you. Take heart, the Potter has good plans for you.
